Frequently Asked Questions
How much does car shipping cost?
The average cost ranges from $600 for short distances (under 500 miles) to $2,500 for cross-country transport. Price depends on distance, vehicle size, carrier type (open vs enclosed), and seasonal demand. Use our free calculator for an instant estimate.
How long does auto transport take?
Standard transit times: 2-4 days for under 500 miles, 4-6 days for 500-1,000 miles, and 7-10 days for cross-country moves over 1,500 miles. Expedited options are available for time-sensitive shipments.
Is my car insured during shipping?
Yes. All carriers in our network carry cargo insurance as required by federal law (FMCSA). Standard coverage ranges from $100,000 to $1,000,000 per load. We can verify specific coverage amounts upon request.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Free cancellation if done more than 48 hours before scheduled pickup. Rescheduling is flexible and usually free of charge. Late cancellations within 48 hours may incur a small fee.
Can I put personal items in my car?
While some carriers allow up to 100 lbs of personal items in the trunk, we generally recommend removing all belongings. Personal items are not covered by cargo insurance.
